Lumagorri is how the Basques call their
free-ranging chicken raised in the
green fields of Euskadi with that characteristic red plumage and their yellow feet. This animal has some extraordinary organoleptic properties, thanks to its long breeding (90 days) and the way they are fed (60% corn and fresh grass). The Pollo de Caserío Lumagorri S.L. producer society is made up of 40 farmers -called
baserritarras– who live in the Basque Country and have a strong representation in Goierri, in the villages of Zaldibia, Gabiria, Altzaga, Idiazabal, Amezketa and in the artisan slaughterhouse in Zerain.
