Gaintza

Gaintza is located at the foot of Mount Txindoki, 30 minutes away from San Sebastián. Enjoy the beautiful landscape surrounding the village and see Euskadi’s most majestic mountain!

Gaintza’s points of interest are San Miguel’s Church, built with a splendid series of Gothic arches on the main entrance -very well conserved-, a modern fronton (place to play basque games), and a few farms decorating the hills and forests.

The Church of San Martín de Tours, located on the outskirts, deserves to be mentioned for its richly-coloured Renaissance altarpiece kept inside. The views from Gaintza are a delight: on a sunny day you can even see the Cantabrian Sea!
