This water channel was built in 1925 for the production of electric power, mostly for the trash of Zegama but which served many dwellings that still had no light.<br \/>\nToday it is part of a network of routes around biodiversity with different characteristics.<br \/>\nThe route of the canal departs from <strong>Zegama&#8217;s old train station<\/strong>, which begins to climb through different forests and an environment of herdsmen&#8217;s slums. Once the beginning of the canal where the first water begins to be collected, the path follows the path of the canal, so it has no slope.<br \/>\nYou can walk in the company of the streams coming in, feeling the freshness of the place and the sound of the water when running. For the collection of water, the canal has a dam, called <strong>Iturbieta<\/strong> from where the water is directed by an underground tube towards Zegama, to the Electra Aizkorri power station.
