Alotza path PR-Gi 2009Ā
The route between Igaratza and Pikueta crosses one of the most special places in Aralar, the Alotza plateau. At 1,200m altitude, it is the sheep, cows and horses that take over these lands in summer. On the contrary, in winter it is snow and silence that reign supreme. This space full of great symbology is drawn between rocky and meadows forming a tremendously special landscape. Land of ranchers and shepherds for thousands of years is delimited by two menhirs, that of Irazusta to the west and that of Saltarri to the east.
